The Outstanding Young Men 2019


       Junior Chamber International Philippines have released the official 2019 Honorees of The Outstanding Young Men award, which have been recognizing Filipino excellence for 60 years now.

       The JCI Philippines (Philippine Jaycees, Inc.), as an organization, has the following goal and mission: to contribute to the advancement of the global community by providing young persons with the opportunity to develop leadership skills, social responsibility and fellowship for a positive change.

       Over the years, The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) has become an institution, having developed a reputation for its selectiveness of outstanding young active citizens upon whom the award is conferred. TOYM seek to give national recognition to young men and women whose selfless dedication to their profession or vocation has resulted in significant contributions to the welfare of their countrymen and the Philippines as a whole, and to the advancement of their respective fields as well. The awardees who have become light of the nation is literally "Who's who" in outstanding achievements in areas such as agricultural science, arts and humanities, banking, law, business, community development, educational, government service, political and social sciences, journalism and mass communication, sports, medicine, economics, science technology and engineering, to name a few.

This year's awardees and their respective fields are as follows:
  • Dr. Marc Paul Jose Lopez- Colon and Rectal Surgery

  • Gerardo Gregorios Francisco Jr.- Arts and Humanities in Dance

  • Rep. Alfredo Paolo Dumlao Vargas III- Public Service

  • Engr. Aisa Alvarez Mijeno- Science Technology and Engineering (Green Technology)

  • Glenn Fiel Fernandez, PhD- Political and Social Sciences (Youth Participation Disaster Risk Reduction)

  • Ziaur-Rahman Alonto Adiong- Government Service

  • Reynaldo Seville Abellana- Arts and Humanities in Classic Music

  • Alfonso Tomas Araullo- Journalism and Mass Communication (Broadcast Journalism)

  • PhD Casiano, Jr. Hermopia Choresca- Agricultural Science (Fisheries and Agriculture)

  • Dino Carlo Reyes Chua- Business (Tourism)
