A breathtaking experience had just been brought to the Philippines last May 26, 2017. Charming Beijing: A Beijing Tourism Fair came to Manila and showed us what the majestic place have to offer.

It was a free admission event held at the SM City by the Bay, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, which aimed to showcase the whole Beijing experience to the Filipino people through martial arts, music, dance, calligraphy, and exhibits. An initiative of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism and Development, the event seeks to uplift tourism for the Chinese capital. In the past months, the event had also visited Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Australia, and of course, the Philippines.

Vice -Chairman of Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development Mr.Yu Debin,
Embassy of People's Republic of China in the Philippines Counsellor Jin Yuan, et al.
The event was very festive indeed highlighted by traditional Lion Dance performances and Wushu exhibition from surprisingly young talents. But what separates this particular event to others are the interactive booths that bring the Beijing experience to our locals into a whole new perspective. There is a 3D photo booth of the Great Wall of China which let visitors take Instagram-worthy shots and selfies in Emperor and Empress costumes. A Chinese Art Booth brings out the crafty side of anyone as they create their own "I Heart Beijing" freebie fans in calligraphy and painted their own Chinese Opera Masks. And of course, no showcase would be complete without a photo exhibit. A Charming Beijing Photo Exhibit highlighted various momentous events and hidden gems in Beijing. Being up-to-the-minute, there was also the Experience Beijing VR that gave Filipinos virtual chance to experience the charms of Beijing.

All the spectators were very excited to try out everything in the event given that it was attended by local media and press, as well as travel agency operators in the country. Charming Beijing is such a great way to deliver a whole culture and make tourists experience what they have to offer. With the growing number of Filipino tourists these past few years, the event simply convinced them to add Beijing on their travel destinations. With this, it is up to local travel agencies on how they would come up with tours that suit the Pinoy wanderlust for Beijing.

The Charming Beijing held in Manila was organized by China Travel Service and Write on Track, with venue partner, SM by the Bay, and was presented by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development.
